John's Tumblr: Cable Cut

parislemon:

lilly:

When we moved to our new house in February, Kathy & I decided not to get bundled cable/satellite television. To people who know me at all, this has been a super surprising development. I consume television pretty voraciously, and love live sports of just about all kinds. I love great television…

Welcome to the club. We’re now over a year into our cutting cable experiment. Some live sports on cable are the only real hardship, everything else, you can find a way to make it work.

We’re two years into giving up cable TV. The only impact that I’ve found so far is that when I look at celebrity gossip magazines, more often than not I have no idea who the people are in the headlines.
